Spoken Words and Singer – Songwriter Grace Grant has Been Impressing Audience with Her Lyrical, Energetic Live Performances.

The singer-songwriter opens up about her life-changing route into music and Poetry

How did you get started with writing and ?

For me it was a positive way to express myself, I found writing when I was in a troubled place and it became my therapy. It helped me to express and understand myself better, I continued to write and fell in love with the art. eventually I wanted to speak out-loud and share my music with others, I wanted to speak my truth and to simply be heard.

How would you describe your current sound?

I would describe it as lyrically raw with a delivery of modern rhythmical style.

What do you find most inspires you to write?

I am inspired by pretty much everything which can influence my style of writing. Experiences and life itself inspires me to write.

Do you have favorite places or times where you like to write?

I write anywhere at anytime, If I have lyrics go through my mind then I jot them down, I always have a pen and pad in my bag. I love the outdoors especially the ocean, I find it calming and peaceful so a lot of the time I enjoy writing outdoors.

What do you think the relationship between lyrics & poetry?

As poetry is often adapted to lyrics the link lays within the rhythm, as both are telling a story so it is difficult to have one without the other, as poetry has the potential to be formed into lyrics and lyrics are a form of poetry in my opinion.

Looking at your musical roots – which musicians and song writers have been the greatest influence?

Tupac is one of my most favourite musicians and songwriters, his work is so elevating and his style is flawless. he has a way with words that makes his work so captivating and unique.

Tracy Chapman is another one of my favourite song writers her style for me is different from what we hear today regarding her musicality, it is so emotionally raw and exposes such quality into her writing style.

What do you think about the internet as a tool for promoting yourself & your music?

I think its a great platform to share your art as it is so widely used, it is a good tool for exposure as the potential audience is huge.
